LIKE Documentary & Panel Discussion
Wednesday, March 22
6:30 PM at the Performing Arts Center at HVCHS
Join us on Wednesday, March 22 for a free screening of LIKE, a documentary that explores the impact of social media on our lives. Technology is a tool. It’s here to stay and social platforms are a place to connect, share and care, but what’s really happening? Are we addicted? How do we stop? Where do we start? What do we need to know? By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it more safely together. Our goal for this film is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to self regulate. It’s not about blame. It’s about looking in the mirror and empowering ourselves to create balance in our lives and to learn to be there for each other.
With the continuing efforts of the Digital Wellness Initiative in our school community, the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance and Hopewell Valley Regional School District are pleased to bring this film to our community. The film is appropriate for ages 11 and up if you would like your child to accompany you.
The event will feature a viewing of the 51-minute film, followed by an informative panel discussion by Dr. Kate Doyle, Princeton Nassau Pediatrics; Laura Berness, PhD, Clinical Psychologist; Dan DeSefano, K-12 Supervisor, Counseling Services and Samantha Awadallah, MS, LPC, Rutgers School Based Clinician at HVRSD.
