About

Created in 1996, the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance’s vision is Hopewell Valley - a community united in the development of caring, confident and responsible youth.

The Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance (HVMA) supports and administers programs and activities in Hopewell Valley that promote positive youth development and build community.

The Executive Committee of the HVMA is a partnership of over 50 individuals representing various sectors of the Hopewell Valley community.  Members include: mayors, police, first responders, business community leaders, clergy, recreation community, medical and mental health professionals, senior citizens/services, Hopewell Valley school district principals, administration and Board of Education, parent teacher organizations (PTO), local libraries, youth serving organizations, special needs community and interested parents. We work together to support youth in the Hopewell Valley community and help to prevent them from engaging in at risk behaviors.

This community partnership known as Healthy Communities
• Healthy Youth was developed 23 years ago.  It is a unique approach that empowers the community to promote the positive development of its children, adolescents and teens.  It does so by ensuring that each sector of the community realizes the benefits of developmental assets in its youth.

These developmental assets are positive experiences and qualities that influence young people’s development, helping them become caring, responsible, and productive adults. Research shows, the more assets that young people have, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behaviors and the more likely they are to thrive.

These developmental assets are woven into the programs the Alliance coordinates and supports such as the teen job and community service fair, student coordinated drug and alcohol prevention programs, youth leadership opportunities and community-wide events.

The Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance Executive Committee meets the 4th Thursday of January*, March, May, September and October at 7:45 AM at the Hopewell Township Municipal building, 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville. *(January's meeting goes "on the road" at 8:00 AM.)  If you are interested in attending any of our meetings, please contact us.
